Program Overview
Our 2022 LanGo Abroad! Cuidad de Mexico (CDMX) Language & Culture Program offers Spanish enthusiasts the ultimate opportunity to learn and practice Spanish and to be immersed in the culture of Mexico City. Our goal is to provide participants with a program filled with unique, hands-on experiences so that they can increase fluency through cultural immersion, social interaction, experiential learning, and engagement with the community of CDMX. Participants will be able to try authentic cuisine, observe traditional customs, learn about the history and culture of the city, and interact in Spanish with our instructors and with locals. The 2022 CDMX Language & Culture Program will be held for a period of five days from October 12th – 16th, 2022. Registration opens on April 11th and closes on July 31st, 2022 or until the participant cap is reached.
Spanish Learning Itinerary
You will participate in Spanish lessons and language and cultural activities each day of the program. The learning itinerary for each day will be themed around a different aspect of Spanish language and Mexican culture. Morning Spanish lessons will focus on Spanish vocabulary and skills needed for that day’s themed learning experiences. Evening Spanish lessons will feature review and synthesis of everything that participants have learned that day.
Language & Culture Themes
The program’s learning itinerary will include the following themes:

· Thursday, Oct. 13th: Lugares de la Cuidad
· Friday, Oct. 14th: La Historia
· Saturday, Oct. 15th: La Cultura
· Sunday, Oct. 16th: La Vida Diara y Dominguando
Cultural Activities & Excursions
Program participants will enjoy many activities in and around Mexico City including walking and food tours, scavenger hunts, visits to historic sites, and an end-of-program celebration dinner. There are also many restaurants and shops within walking distance or within a quick taxi or Uber ride away in the neighborhood of CDMX where the program will be based.
You can also choose to participate in add-on cultural excursions on Friday and Saturday of the program. Destinations for our cultural excursions include Teotihuacan (including the Temple of Quetzalcoatl & the Pyramid of the Sun and Moon), the Soumaya Museum, the National Museum of Anthropology, and the Frida Kahlo Museum.
Accommodation Options
The program will be based in the conveniently located Roma/Condesa neighborhood of Mexico City. Participants can opt to stay at our recommended hotels (Villa Condesa, Hotel Condesa DF, and La Palomilla Bed & Breakfast) or at a different hotel of their choice. Our recommended hotels are all within 5-minute walking distance from one another and include free breakfast, WiFi, and airport shuttles.
Program Cost
Deposit: $385
Balance: TBD based on program add-ons such as
arranged hotel reservations, airport and excursion transfer reservations, and add-on cultural activities and excursion bookings.
