Program Overview
The LanGo Abroad! Spain Language & Culture Program offers Spanish enthusiasts the ultimate opportunity to learn and practice Spanish and to be immersed in the culture of Spain. The 2024 Spain Language & Culture Program will be held for a period of seven days from October 7th to 13th, 2024. Registration opens on March 4th, 2024 and closes on May 31st, 2024 or until the participant cap is reached. Our goal is to provide participants with a program filled with unique, hands-on experiences so that they can increase fluency through cultural immersion, social interaction, experiential learning, and engagement with several communities in Spain.
The program itinerary will include time in the vibrant capital city of Spain, Madrid, and in the cosmopolitan capital of Catalonia, Barcelona. We will also visit several other important cities and cultural centers of Spain; optional day trip destinations include the historic cities of Toledo or Segovia, and the beautiful eastern coastal city of Valencia.
Spanish Learning Itinerary
We hope to give you the ultimate Spanish immersion experience in Spain! You will participate in Spanish lessons and language and cultural activities each day of the program, with the learning itinerary for each day themed around different aspects of Spanish language & culture. Morning lessons will focus on vocabulary and skills needed for that day’s themed learning experiences. Evening Spanish lessons will feature review & synthesis of everything that participants have learned that day. Our dedicated team of Spanish instructors will guide & support your learning journey in Spain. We will also give you fun daily challenges to encourage you to use your Spanish language skills while abroad!
DESTINATION ITINERARY
The program’s travel itinerary will include the following destinations in Spain:
· Madrid, October 7th – 10th
· Toledo or Segovia Daytrip, October 9th
· Barcelona, October 10th – 13th
· Valencia Daytrip, October 11th
Cultural Activities & Excursions
Program participants will enjoy many activities in the cities we visit including walking and food tours, scavenger hunts, and visits to historic cultural sites. There are also many restaurants and shops within walking distance within the areas where the program will be based.
You will participate in cultural activities and excursions during various portions of the program. Optional cultural excursions include day trips to Toledo or Segovia, and Valencia.
AccommodationS
The program will be based in conveniently located hotels in Madrid & Barcelona. All feature free breakfast & WiFi; some also include airport transfers & laundry service.
Program Cost
Total Cost: $1,996; includes: customized Spanish language program, learning materials, cultural activities, and accommodations for 6 nights. Participants are responsible for the cost of flights and transfers.
Registration & 50% Deposit Due: $998; May 31st, 2024
Remaining Balance Due: August 31st, 2024
pre-Trip Meeting & guide
Once registration closes, we will hold a trip planning meeting to give you a step-by-step guide of what to know, pack, study, and do before we go! You’ll also receive a customized trip guide with our detailed itinerary and daily Spanish challenges, essential Spanish words/phrases to know, and useful reference materials for getting around Spain.
