Program Overview
The LanGo Abroad! Japan Language & Culture Program offers Japanese language and culture enthusiasts the ultimate opportunity to learn and practice Japanese and to be immersed in the culture of Japan. Our goal is to provide participants with a program filled with unique, hands-on experiences so that they can increase fluency through cultural immersion, social interaction, experiential learning, and engagement with several communities in Japan. The program itinerary will include time in the vibrant and dynamic capital city of Tokyo and in the eclectic and flavorful city of Osaka. Participants will be able to try authentic cuisine, observe traditional customs, learn about the history, culture, and language variety of each place we visit, and interact in Japanese with our instructors and with locals.
The 2027 Japan Language & Culture Immersion Program will be held for a period of seven days from May 10th to 16th, 2027. Registration opens on June 18th, 2026 and closes on December 20th, 2026 or until the participant cap is reached.
Japanese Learning Itinerary
You will participate in Japanese lessons and language and cultural activities each day of the program. The learning itinerary for each day will be themed around different aspects of Japanese language and culture. Morning Japanese lessons will focus on vocabulary and skills needed for that day’s themed learning experiences. Evening Japanese lessons will feature review and synthesis of everything that participants have learned that day.
Destination Itinerary
The program’s travel itinerary will include:
· Day 1 – 3: Tokyo, May 10th to 12th
· Day 4 – 7: Osaka, May 13th to 16th
· Day 5: Hiroshima & Miyajima day trip, May 14th
Cultural Activities & Excursions
Program participants will enjoy many activities in the cities we visit including walking and food tours, scavenger hunts, and visits to historic and cultural sites. There are also many restaurants and shops within walking distance within the areas where the program will be based.
You will participate in cultural activities and excursions during various portions of the program. Optional cultural excursion includes a day trip from Osaka to the historic and convivial city of Hiroshima and the picturesque and sacred island of Miyajima.
Accommodations
The program will be based in conveniently located hotels in Tokyo and Osaka. All feature shared or single rooms, free breakfast, WiFi; some have laundry facilities.
Program Cost
Early Bird Price: $3,495 (shared), $4,395 (single); early bird registration ends August 31st, 2026
Regular Price: $3,795 (shared); $4,695 (single)
Deposit: $500 due at registration; Balance: divided into 6 installments; Final installment due approximately 60 days before departure
Includes: customized Japan language program & learning materials, cultural activities, and accommodations for 6 nights. Participants are responsible for the cost of flights and transfers.
Bundle Option: Save $500 when you register for both the Japan & South Korea immersion programs!
Trip Meeting
Once registration closes, we will hold a trip planning meeting to talk about things to know, pack, and do before you go!
